From 6–8 July 2026, the H2POWRD consortium gathered at Politecnico di Milano for Workshop 3: Design Methodology for Sub- and Supersonic Inlet Stages. The workshop brought together Doctoral Candidates, researchers, and academic staff for three days of technical training, knowledge exchange, and collaborative discussions.

The workshop focused on the design methodologies for sub- and supersonic inlet stages, providing participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the underlying principles, current research challenges, and engineering approaches in this field. Through expert lectures, technical discussions, and interactive sessions, attendees explored key aspects of inlet stage design while exchanging ideas and experiences across the consortium.

In addition to the technical programme, the workshop provided an excellent opportunity for networking and strengthening collaboration among the H2POWRD Doctoral Candidates and supervisors. Such training events play an important role in supporting the development of early-stage researchers while fostering interdisciplinary cooperation within the project.

The consortium would like to express its sincere appreciation to the distinguished lecturers who shared their expertise throughout the workshop: Prof. Mihai Mihaescu (KTH Royal Institute of Technology), Prof. Simone Salvadori (Politecnico di Torino), Prof. Paolo Gaetani, Dr. Noraiz Mushtaq and Prof. Giacomo Persico, (Politecnico di Milano), Prof. Tommaso Bacci (Università degli Studi di Firenze). Their valuable contributions and engaging presentations significantly enriched the scientific programme and provided participants with diverse perspectives on the latest developments in the field.

The knowledge and discussions generated during Workshop 3 will continue to support the research activities of the consortium as H2POWRD advances innovative solutions for future sustainable energy systems.
