As part of the H2POWRD MSCA programme, the H2POWRD consortium continued its commitment to doctoral training through two dedicated learning activities hosted by the Università degli Studi di Firenze (UNIFI), Italy, bringing together all H2POWRD Doctoral Candidates for technical development, knowledge exchange, and professional skills enhancement.
From 29 June to 3 July 2026, the Doctoral Candidates attended WS2 ART – Turbomachinery Summer School (https://art.dief.unifi.it/blog/) an intensive training programme designed to support researchers working in the field of turbomachinery. The summer school provided participants with opportunities to deepen their technical understanding, exchange ideas with fellow researchers, and engage with experts from the field.
On 3 July 2026, the programme continued with TS1 – Transferable Skills Workshop: “What to do with your PhD?”, delivered by Prof. Giovanni Mastrolonardo. This session focused on career development and the broader opportunities available to researchers after completing their doctoral studies, helping participants reflect on their future career pathways and develop valuable transferable skills.
Beyond the formal sessions, these activities also provided an important opportunity for the H2POWRD Doctoral Candidates to connect with one another, strengthen collaboration within the network, and share experiences as early-stage researchers.
The H2POWRD consortium would like to thank the Università degli Studi di Firenze and Prof. Antonio Andreini for hosting these activities and supporting the development of the next generation of researchers.
The knowledge, skills, and connections gained through these training events will continue to support the Doctoral Candidates throughout their research journeys within the H2POWRD project (101169009).
